General conditions for renting a motorhome with Camperverhuur Amsterdam

Definitions:
In these conditions, the following definitions are used:

• Motorhome: the vehicle which is the subject of the rental agreement
• Hirer: the person who enters into the rental agreement as hirer
• Renter: the person who enters into the rental agreement as renter

1. Rental period:
The rental period starts on a Friday or Saturday between 2 pm and 5 pm and ends on a Friday or Saturday between 9 am and noon. Each motorhome has a particular pick-up and return time. In the event of exceeding the rental period, one day of the rent (1/7th part of the weekly rent) per day plus an additional compensation of € 125 will be charged. With each following day of returning the car too late, € 125 plus one day of rent will be charged. Since in most cases it is not possible to deliver a motorhome to the next hirer, he or she can only claim the refund of the lost days if the renter is unable to provide the motorhome agreed on. No entitlement to compensation of whatever nature is ever possible.

2. Kilometres:
1750 kilometres per week free of charge, additional kilometres: € 0.20 per kilometre. For weekends or weekdays adjusted numbers of kilometres apply.

3. Insurance:
The motorhome is liability and all-risk insured and includes passenger insurance. A € 600.00 excess per incident applies, which will be charged upon the hirer in the event of damage both in the Netherlands and abroad. An international insurance card (groene kaart) is included with the motorhome. Any damage not covered by insurance and caused when the driver was thus under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxicating or stimulating substance at the time of the accident that they were unable to drive the motorhome properly, is at the full expense of the hirer. Also damage caused by unqualified drivers is at the expense of the hirer. Damage to the interior is not covered by insurance, i.e. repair and replacement costs are at the full expense of the hirer. Damage to the rented object due to carelessness is never at the expense of the renter.

4. Deposit:
The deposit per rental period is € 1,000.00. The deposit should be paid no later than 6 weeks prior to departure date, along with the remainder of the rental sum. This deposit will be transferred back to the account of the hirer within 21 days if all rental conditions have been met with, if necessary withholding additional costs due by the hirer. If the deposit turns out to be insufficient and damage has occurred during the rental period which is not covered by the insurance mentioned above, the hirer will immediately pay the additional amount, to be determined by the renter, on top of the deposit. If necessary, a final statement will be drawn up for specification.

5. Cancellation:
Hirer must cancel by registered mail. The date of postal delivery applies as cancellation date. We recommend that you take out a cancellation insurance with your insurance company or with the ANWB.
Upon cancellation, hirer owes renter:

• up until 10 weeks prior to the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental sum
• up until 6 weeks prior to the start of the rental period: 60% of the rental sum
• within 6 weeks prior to the start of the rental period: 90% of the rental sum
• from the starting date of the rental period: 100% of the rental sum

Returning the hired motorhome at an earlier date will not result in a refund of the rental sum (or part of it).

6. Identification:
Upon booking, all drivers are obliged to provide identification (i.e. passport or driver’s license). Upon booking, hirer agrees that his or her personal details may be verified.

7. Payment:
Upon final booking, 50% of the total rent will be paid and transferred to bank account no. 53.35.41.301 attn. Camperverhuur Amsterdam BV in Amsterdam. The remainder, including deposit, will be transferred to the bank account and name mentioned above.

8. Repairs and damage:
Upon return, the motorhome must be in the same state as upon delivery. Despite the fact that our motorhomes are well maintained, damages or defects may occur. The hirer will not make any alterations to or in the motorhome.
Hirer is allowed to commission necessary repairs for amounts up to € 75.00. Repairs should be conducted by a professional repair facility, preferably a dealer of the brand of the motorhome (the undercarriage of the motorhome is Fiat, the superstructure Dethleffs). Should repairs exceed this amount, hirer should always contact renter and seek approval. The hirer will adhere to renter's instruction where possible. Original and specified bills on renter's name will be paid back to hirer after termination of the rental period. Damage to and/or theft of the interior, airco-unit on the roof, radio/CD, TV/DVD, car reverse camera, awning and bicycle carrier are at the expense of hirer, safe for normal wear and traces of use.
Prior to departure, hirer should provide for an international travel and circular letter of credit plus (ANWB Internationale Reis- en Kredietbrief Plus) and a motorhome and trailer service abroad (Kampeerauto en Aanhangwagen Service Buitenland) in the event of replacing transport and repatriation of the motorhome if irreparably damaged.
With each collision, the local police should be contacted and with any impairment or damage the European claims form should be filled out. Renter should also be informed within 24 hours by telephone.
Damage and costs not covered by insurance e.g. as a result of drunk driving, having the car driven by non-authorised persons, seizure, drug transport, flooding, molestation of the interior, etc. are fully at the expense of the hirer.
Upon return, the hirer is obliged to report damages and defects known to him to renter. Telephone: 06 – 4245 1355. Renter is never liable for personal, material or immaterial damage of hirer or their traveling companions resulting from use of the motorhome, mechanical defects and/or damage from collision.

9. Maintenance:
The motorhome will be delivered with a full fuel tank, full clean water tank, empty waste water tank, empty cassette toilet and with a fully cleaned interior and exterior. At the end of the rental period, the motorhome's interior and exterior should be cleaned (with the exception of the roof). The clean water tank should be filled up. The waste water tank and the cassette toilet should be emptied and cleaned. The motorhome should be returned with a full fuel tank. If this is not the case, an amount of € 150.00 will be withheld to clean the interior, € 100.00 will be withheld to clean the exterior, € 50.00 will be withheld to empty the waste water tank and € 100.00 will be withheld to empty and clean the cassette toilet upon return of the deposit.

10. Fuel:
Consumption of fuel (diesel) is at the expense of the hirer. Upon collection the motorhome will have a full fuel tank and you should return the motorhome with a full fuel tank.

11. Consumption costs:
No costs are attached to use of liquid for the chemical toilet and possible oil consumption.

12. Driver:
The hirer must be at least 25 years of age and must have been in the possession of a valid Dutch driver's license B for at least 5 years. For driving the motorhome a driver's license B is sufficient, taking into account a registered weight of 3,000 to 3,100 kilogrammes, according to EU-norms including the driver (75 kilogrammes), full fuel/fresh water tanks, gas bottles, spare wheel, cable reel, standard board tools and 10 kilogrammes for each meter length of the motorhome. The motorhome may only be driven by the driver(s) mentioned in the rental contract. Hirer is personally liable for traffic offences made.

13. Instruction:
When collecting the motorhome, hirer will be given comprehensive instruction on how to operate the motorhome and its accessories. Written instruction will also be present in the motorhome.

14. Which countries may be visited:
All countries in Europe except for risk areas indicated by the insurance and renter beforehand. The respective countries are listed on the international insurance card (groene kaart). Winter holiday destinations are excluded in the period from 1 December up until 1 May.

15. Pets:
Pets are not allowed.

16. Smoking:
Smoking inside the motorhome is not allowed.

17. Parking
During the rental period, private car(s) can only be left behind by the hirer at their own risk.
Camperverhuur Amsterdam BV is not liable to any consequence of parking this vehicle (e.g. damage of theft).

The above conditions are part of the rental contract and should be initialed on each page by the hirer upon signing the contract.
